Job Description

The SAP Senior Functional FICO Analyst will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing SAP Financial and Controlling (FICO) solutions, with a strong focus on S/4HANA. This role requires a deep understanding of SAP FICO modules, S/4HANA functionality, SAP Fiori apps for finance, and SAP best practices to deliver effective, scalable solutions aligned with business requirements. The Senior Architect will work closely with business stakeholders technical teams, and project managers to ensure that SAP FICO configurations and customizations meet both operational goals and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

SAP FICO Solution Design:
•    Lead the design and architecture of SAP FICO solutions, ensuring alignment with business processes and objectives, during our Migration from ECC to S4 HANA, and post go-live. 
•    Develop scalable and efficient configurations in SAP S/4HANA, leveraging standard functionality and best practices.
•    Design and integrate solutions for core financial modules including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), and Controlling (CO).

 

S/4HANA Functionality:
•    Utilize deep knowledge of S/4HANA capabilities, particularly in finance and controlling, to guide decision-making and solution architecture.
•    Leverage S/4HANA innovations such as Universal Journal, embedded analytics, and real-time reporting to optimize financial processes.
•    Ensure effective integration of SAP FICO with other modules like MM (Materials Management), SD (Sales and Distribution), and PP (Production Planning) in the S/4HANA environment.

 

SAP Fiori Apps for Finance:
•    Leverage SAP Fiori apps to enhance financial processes, providing real-time insights and streamlined user experiences.
•    Guide business users on the best use of SAP Fiori apps for finance, including apps related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
•    Ensure SAP Fiori apps are properly configured to support key financial activities such as cash management, financial closing, and reporting, providing more intuitive and accessible interfaces for end-users.
•    Continuously evaluate new Fiori apps as part of ongoing system improvements, ensuring they align with business needs and drive efficiency in financial operations.

 

SAP Best Practices:
•    Incorporate SAP best practices in the design and configuration of FICO processes, ensuring high standards of performance, scalability, and compliance.
•    Recommend and implement best practices for financial consolidation, financial closing processes, and cost management.
•    Stay updated on evolving SAP best practices and emerging technologies, ensuring that the organization remains competitive in its use of SAP solutions.

 

Business Process Optimization:
•    Analyze current business processes and map them to SAP FICO functionalities to improve operational efficiency.
•    Lead workshops and gather requirements from key business stakeholders to ensure that SAP FICO solutions are aligned with business needs.
•    Propose and implement process improvements based on SAP standard functionality to reduce customization and increase system flexibility.

 

Project Leadership & Collaboration:
•    Act as the primary architect for SAP FICO-related initiatives, guiding cross-functional teams and ensuring successful delivery of projects.
•    Collaborate closely with SAP Basis, Security, and other functional teams to ensure seamless integration of FICO processes with the broader SAP landscape.
•    Provide leadership in project planning, design reviews, and post-implementation support to ensure business objectives are met.

 

Configuration & Customization:
•    Configure and customize SAP FICO modules to meet specific business needs while adhering to SAP best practices.
•    Provide detailed technical specifications for custom developments and enhancements.
•    Ensure that SAP FICO configurations meet compliance, reporting, and internal control requirements, including IFRS and GAAP standards.

 

 

Qualifications:

Education
•    Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related fields required. 

 

Skills Required 
•    3-6 years of experience working as an SAP Solutions 
•    Experience with SAP FICO 
•    Experience with SAP S/4HANA, including implementation, upgrade, and migration projects.

 
Skills Preferred  
•    In-depth understanding of SAP FICO modules (GL, AP, AR, AA, CO), with hands-on integration and configuration experience.
•    Proven track record in delivering SAP FICO solutions based on SAP best practices.
•    Experience with SAP Fiori apps for finance, including their implementation and best use cases in financial operations.
•    Business expertise in financial accounting processes, including month-end close, financial reporting, cost center accounting, profit center accounting, and internal orders.
•    Strong knowledge of S/4HANA Finance innovations, such as the Universal Journal and real-time financial reporting.
•    Railroad industry experience.
