Job Description

We are a Fortune 300 company searching for a talented writer with the ability to engage a variety of audiences across multiple channels, including but not limited to corporate intranet, social media, blogs, and other corporate channels.

Principal Duties:

  • Generate original content that advances the mission and strategic goals of the company through interviews with employees at all levels of the company, from the C-suite to front-line operations.
  • Produce and edit customer-facing materials, in-house correspondence, and technical documentation.
  • Create compelling stories chronicling news at Norfolk Southern-- including researching, drafting copy and securing stakeholder interviews, reviews, and approvals -- to highlight company achievements, new service offerings, and other newsworthy developments.
  • Create content on a regular basis for our corporate intranet (MyNS) and our mobile workforce communication platform (FORGE,) highlighting the accomplishments of our people, strategic business initiatives, and information that engages our employees.
  • Contribute to the production of the company’s annual report for shareholders, our annual ESG report, and a range of other corporate communication campaigns.
  • Write scripts for both internal and external company-produced videos.
  • Draft talking points for speeches by senior leaders.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leaders to understand and create executive talking points, ensuring that messaging is aligned, corporate branding is maintained, and overarching strategies are included.

Job Related Experience:

  • Minimum Level: 3-5 years
  • Preferred Level: 7-10 years.
  • A background in print or online journalism is a plus.

Education:

Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree: Journalism, English, Writing
