Job Description

A Day in the Life
As a Data Analyst intern, you will have the opportunity to be involved with the developing enhancements for a variety of enterprise web applications that support business and customer service operations.

•    Interfacing with customers, business partners, IT team members to resolve business issues
•    Skilled in backend application development

•    Familiarity with testing methodologies and strategies, strong teamwork ethic and customer support focus


Opportunity
•    Support IT senior developers with the following tasks

  • data mining and data manipulation for reporting
  • performing trending and problem-solving analytics
  • establishing automated reports, 
  • executing build and delivery of ad-hoc requests utilizing SQL Reporting Services and other local and distributed reporting tools


Education/Experience
•    Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree

  • Preferred Degree Paths: Computer and Information Sciences, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, and majors in a similar field of study will be considered

•    Knowledge and experience in some of the following areas: Java, DB2, Oracle, MS SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, C, C++, J2EE, Ajax, Java Script, XML, VB.NET, or C#.NET

You must be able to work in our midtown Atlanta HQ for 3 months in the Spring or Summer of 2024

 

Relocation assistance is not provided, but Norfolk Southern does offer a Living Stipend of $850/month, which is taxed, to those who qualify.
