Job Description
Primary Purpose:
Responsible for design and management of the annual bridge tie replacement program to provide a safe, fast, reliable infrastructure for trains to operate at maximum authorized speed for assigned territory within compliance of the safety rules, operating rules, standard procedures, policies, and AREMA guidance.
Principal Duties:
- Manages the annual bridge tie program.
- Facilitates the field requests into an approved annual program
- Develops the timeline and assigns installation ownership of each bridge tie deck
- Manages the gathering and accountability of the accuracy of all B9 and surveys for each bridge tie deck
- Designs and develops the bridge tie deck replacement structural plans
- Manages the ordering and delivery of all material associated with each bridge tie deck
- Conducts bridge tie surveys and coaches field personnel on the process
- Manages the annual bridge tie inventory
- Manages the bridge tie production gangs (B01 and B02) schedules
- Coordinates and manages NS sourcing, bridge tie material vendors, NS material yard, bridge supervisors, Process Engineer Structures, EBSs, and B01 and B02 for bridge tie deck orders.
- Manages and designs engineering calculations, plans, specifications, estimates, and material requisitions for the annual maintenance and capital programs.

In-depth Knowledge of Relevant Industry Regulations, Codes and Standards (AREMA, FRA Regulations CFR 237, NS Standard Plans and Procedures, OSHA fall protection regulations, Army Corp and USCG permitting, etc.), NS Bridge Inspection Class
