Job Description
Primary Purpose:
• This position is responsible for the design, development and implementation of information solutions that allow Network Planning and Optimization to maximize the efficient, safe, and profitable handling of rail traffic on Norfolk Southern.
• Includes short-term objectives and long-term strategies to support data-driven, operational decision making by senior leadership and individual contributors.
• Includes day to day management and prioritization for the Business Processes and Systems group.
• Includes human capital administration such as evaluations, mentoring, training, and personnel development.
Principal Duties:
• Provides management with recommendations for the use of analytical models and decision support systems to improve business processes, increase revenues, and reduce costs.
• Oversees development and execution of business processes which support analytics for Network Planning Optimization (NPO).
• Guarantees visibility of NPO data in easily consumable formats including dashboards and automated reports.
• Maintains accurate and timely information on the current operating status of the entire railroad for senior leaders (Network Scorecard product owner).
