Job Description

The Norfolk Southern Information Security Department is currently seeking an experienced professional to join the Identity and Access Management team. This position will be responsible for support of security administration and password management across multiple platforms. Other responsibilities may include support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution related to user provisioning and identity and access for user and application accounts.

Primary Duties:

  • RACF engineering and support of mainframe products and initiatives
  • RBAC engineering and support across multiple platforms
  • Design/support initiatives related to password management and complexity
  • Assist with administrative user requests
  • Interact with other security and development teams to troubleshoot identity and access issues
  • Work with Oracle Identity Governance (OIG) product suite to provision user accounts

Job Related Experience:

Preferred Level: 5+ years


Preferred Level: Bachelor’s Degree (BS)

Preferred Majors:  Computer Science or Information Systems, Specialization in Information Security or similar curriculum

  • Ability to capture requirements with efficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail on a consistent basis
  • Ability to interact professionally with business partners, subject matter experts and development teams
  • Experience in documenting requirements and designs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to rapidly adapt to new technologies
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment

  • Experience with RACF administration
  • Experience with RBAC engineering and administration
  • General Mainframe knowledge
  • General security knowledge focused on password policies
  • Knowledge of *NIX (UNIX and LINUX) security systems
  • Identity and Access Management experience, especially Oracle Identity Management
  • Experience with Hitachi-ID Password Manager
  • General understanding of Identify Service Provider
  • General understanding of Privileged Access Management
  • General understanding of Role Based Access Control
  • General understanding of Active Directory security
  • General understanding of RACF, Active Directory, RBA, *NIX
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Apache Netbeans
  • Powershell
