Job Description

Become a member of Norfolk Southern’s SAP team and help deliver the highest value solutions across all business functions. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team involved in highly visible projects tied to critical corporate goals. The candidate will work closely with the IT delivery manager to deliver SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) services and programs to manage and support reliability of critical assets in Norfolk Southern Corporation.  

Responsibilities

  • Takes technical ownership of an EAM Work stream in developing detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing and implementation phases of project.
  • Responsible for requirements, analysis, design, development, debug, code review, unit test, and document, and to effectively interact with Business Analysts, Technical Analysts, and business users to understand the overall enterprise solution.
  • Works with the product manager and internal business partners to assess current business and system processes and defines plans for improvement
  • Analysis of the requirements from SAP EAM functional areas and provide technical solution.   Work with the business to turn function requirements into technical program specs to code, test, and debug programs.
  • Provide technical consulting services on new and existing initiatives.
  • Engage other technical team members in the design, delivery, and deployment of solutions.
  • Ensure completeness of development deliverables such as design specifications, development templates, testing plan/cases and training materials.
  • Execute the strategic plan to migrate current SAP technologies to S4/HANA on a public cloud.
  • Provide quality control of overall technical work products.
  • Guide a team of technical analysts (employees and contractors) on-site and offshore, provide oversight.
  • Provide timely updates, communications, issue resolution and status reporting to SAP Applications manager.
  • Participates in all scrum ceremonies (daily scrum, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective meetings)

 

Skills Required

  • 3 + years SAP implementation experience including at least one full-lifecycle SAP projects with Plant Maintenance implementation experience a plus
  • 3+ years of experience delivering SAP technical specifications for all RICEFW development objects
  • Must have SAP ABAP skill with SAP OData
  • Expert knowledge and hands-on skills with ABAP technologies such as the Development Workbench, SAP Web IDE, IDOC, SAP API, BAPI, BADI and RFCs.
  • Good experience with object-oriented programming.
  • Experience in integration domains, such as SOA - Service-oriented Architecture, EDI - Electronic Data Interchange, ETL - Extraction, Transformation and Loading.
  • Good knowledge of SAP technologies such as Fiori Ui5 and HANA.
  • Strong systems implementation skills: requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, construction, testing, and support.
  • Technical understanding of EAM integration with key SAP modules including:  SAP PM, MM/IM, FI, and HR modules
  • Familiarity with the technical integration between SAP and partner systems using middleware applications exchanging data with standards such as XML and EDI
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Must possess knowledge of MS Office to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in writing requirements document and technical specifications
  • Able to communicate effectively, demonstrate teamwork, use productive work methods, exercise sound judgment and display initiative and innovation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interface with all levels of employees, management, external contacts, and end-users.
  • Potential travel to other east coast railroad locations

 

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Tricentis or similar automated testing tool
  • Curiosity, critical thinking, detail oriented and customer focus.
  • Knowledge of Planning & Scheduling processes and tools
  • Experience with S/4HANA
  • Experience in integration of Cloud based applications to SAP using AFS
  • Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (Reporting)
  • Understanding the SAP mobile platform.   The connection of business data to mobile devices for workflow management and back-office integration
  • Experience with Angular desktop and mobile development
  • Experience with LSMW and other mass update tools to maintain equipment
  • SAP AFS experience preferred.
  • SAP S4 HANA implementation expertise and SAP railroad experience is a plus
  • Experience with SAP BW
  • Experience with SAP APO/Demand Planning tools
  • Knowledge of cloud, network, and mobile security architecture

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years related experience
