Job Description:
The primary responsibilities of the Security Consultant are to function as liaison between NS Business units and the Information Security team; provide subject matter expertise in the development of security policies, processes, and procedures; maintain security best practice awareness through monitoring industry updates from community forums, conferences, and trend analysis. 

4-yr college degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics preferred


Advise and inform the enterprise business units in the evaluation of technology purchases and subsequent implementations to insure commensurate level of security controls that support Information Security’s roadmap and overall direction are incorporated

Assist with high level security architectural analysis, design, and guidance at the request of NS business unit leadership.

Leverage knowledge acquired from business processes, technology communities, and technology research to
support the development and design of NS security policies, standards, and architecture

Monitor industry security updates, technologies and best practices to improve corporate information security
Assists in the execution of, and response to, regulatory changes affecting information security. Follows up on
developed compliance plans to ensure completion

Reviews and approve security variances to established Computer Compliance policies

Review and approve requests for firewall changes

Conduct risk assessments of enterprise initiatives, including external service providers and suppliers

Provide assistance incident response team for threats for computer/network forensics investigation

At least 5 years of solid professional work experience in Information Security including Security Architecture
Strong knowledge of industry standards such as NIST, ISO etc.
