Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Supervises the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual federal and state income tax provisions under FAS 109/ASC 740. Reviews and assists with income tax accounting related matters, in particular in regards to tax compliance.

Principal Duties:

  • Supervises the tax accounting system for income and related taxes.
  • Implements and manages the tax provision software system and ensures adequate supporting documentation and workpapers for the monthly, quarterly, and annual tax entries.
  • Assists with more complex tax accounting issues and SEC financial statement disclosures.
  • Manages and reviews of federal, state, and local income, franchise and miscellaneous tax returns.
  • Prepares or assists with the preparation of more complex tax return matters.
  • Assists in tax planning and advises on the tax accounting consequences of proposed corporate transactions, proposed tax legislation and tax audit and litigation matters.

Job Related Experience:

Minimum Level: 6-10 years Preferred Level: 11-15 years

Education:

Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree. Masters in Tax or MBA desirable.
