Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Represents Norfolk Southern with the Port Authorities of major ports reached by NS, potential port customers, and private port operators located within NS service territory to identify and develop new business opportunities.

Principal Duties:

  • Performs special assignments as directed by Senior management.
  • Interacts with Executive Port Directors for the major ports reached by NS.
  • Coordinates with representatives of the Intermodal Department to serve major container ports on the East Coast.
  • Works to develop Business Relationships with potential Port customers, particularly on the merchandise (non-container and coal) side of NS' business.
  • Directs the marketing operations for Lambert's Point Docks, Inc., Norfolk Southern's breakbulk operation located in Norfolk, Virginia. Works closely with Norfolk Southern's Marketing and Transportation Departments to develop new business opportunities.
  • Works closely with NS' Executive European Representative to develop new business opportunities that are first identified by the Representative. Also serves as NS' chief representative on the AAR Transborder Committee, addressing customs issues in North America.

Job Related Experience:

Minimum Level: 3-5 years Preferred Level: 6-10 years


Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree (BS, MBA)
