Job Description

 

Norfolk Southern Corporation is currently seeking a dedicated ServiceNow Platform Architect to drive platform governance and strategic planning. In this role, you will manage architecture within ITSM modules, CMDB, discovery, asset maturity, service mapping, catalog, and portal development. This will include application integrations, upgrades, quality assurance, development team oversight, and production support. You will apply your service-oriented approach optimizing existing and future capabilities. Ensure fluid and agile deliveries leveraging an extensive background in maturing overall service management practices. 

 

Responsibilities 


•    Delivers consultative technical leadership to the platform team, management, and senior leadership.
•    Creates and maintains a detailed documentation including platform architecture, technical design, and implementation details, and support details.
•    Provides enterprise-wide technical architecture and implementation strategy to ensure the correct technical solutions are used.
•     Delivers business solutions to reduce technical debt and best fit for purpose use of product.
•    Partners closely with enterprise architecture team and platform product owner to ensure alignment with business needs and NS architecture practices.
•    Drives standards and best practices for development and platform management to ensure the ongoing health of the platform.
•    Participates in process development workshops and requirements gathering activities.
•    Conducts peer review of configuration and development efforts to ensure compliance with standards.
•    Ensures all work adheres to the processes, policies and best practices for development and the platform for NS and ServiceNow.
•    Designs platform governance, development team alignment alongside the development team, product owner, and SCRUM master.
•    Manages SN design, development, and maintenance of all application features and functions, implemented at NS including: ITSM, ITOM, HAM, Automation Engine, Security Operations Vulnerability Management, SPM, 3rd party applications.
•    Collaborates with platform engineers to create and maintain effective release management practices ensuring separation of duties and traceability.
•    Maintains, develops, and enhances existing configuration and NS specific code in ServiceNow.
•    Resolves technical escalations, including responding to defects, incidents, and service impacting issues.
•    Mentors and share technical knowledge with service management team.
•    Applies latest platform capabilities and best practices provided with each ServiceNow version releases. 


Education Required


•    Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, business, management, information systems, engineering or related field is required.
 
 

Skills Required 


•    5+ years experience supporting and implementing ServiceNow in a large I.T. environment.
•    5+ years of experience supporting, optimizing, and maturing both service management, CMDB, and Asset Management practices.
•    Advanced ServiceNow Development APIs.
•    Programming languages for portal development, i.e., Javascript, XML, HTML, CSS, Angular, REST.
•    Agile (SCRUM) Development Methodology.


 

Skills Desired

 
•    ServiceNow platform application and Integration experience: ITOM, CMDB, CSM, SPM, Portal/UI Builder, GRC
•    ServiceNow Vancouver or higher
•    Jira and/or ServiceNow Agile
•    ITIL v4 Foundations
•    (ServiceNow) Performance Analytics
•    (ServiceNow) HAMPro & SAM
•    (ServiceNow) SecOps 
•    (ServiceNow) Cloud Provisioning and Governance
•    (ServiceNow) Automation Engine/Integration Hub
•    Knowledge of industry-leading Event Management tools

 

Preferred Certifications:  


•    CAMP, CSAM, CITAM, or CHAMP certification from IAITAM
•    CMDB/Discovery/Service Mapping Fundamentals
•    Certified ServiceNow Application Developer (CAD)
•    Certified ServiceNow Implementation Specialist (CIS)
•    Certified ITIL v4 Professional
