Job Description

Norfolk Southern Corporation is currently seeking a SharePoint Farm Administrator for a permanent position located in Atlanta, GA (Midtown).  The successful candidate must be an energetic problem solver with technical proficiency as a SharePoint Farm Administrator.  The applicant must be highly motivated to meet project deadlines and technology challenges. The administrator will work directly with NS technical teams to administer, monitor, maintain, and upgrade the SharePoint Corporate Farm consisting of 4 farm environments, over 50 servers, and more than 1800 sites.  The position also includes production support responsibilities including analyzing service issues, determining the causes and resolving them.  The position will require participation in an on-call rotation.  The successful candidate must be a very good communicator, both written and verbal, and have experience working with business areas to translate their business needs and questions into technical requirements. 


Responsibilities:
• SharePoint On Premises Farm Administration
• Corporate SharePoint Governance implementation and enforcement
• SharePoint version upgrades
• SharePoint security model and user management
• Development of solutions/applications for SharePoint
• Administration of MS Project Server in SharePoint
• Leverage of out-of-the-box SharePoint functionality to deliver solutions
• Support of externally facing SharePoint environment
• Monitoring of performance, scalability, reliability and availability (system & components)
• SharePoint Administration (including server installation, management and troubleshooting with a focus on planning, deploying and supporting enterprise SharePoint implementations)


Skills and Experience:
 Required:
• 5+ years as a SharePoint Farm Administrator
• 3+ years of Windows Server 2012 R2 experience
• Experience with PowerShell
• Knowledge and use of supporting infrastructure such as Active Directory, DNS, Outlook, etc.
• IIS use and administration
• SQL Server 2016 experience
• SharePoint Designer
• SharePoint web part administration/development
• Team building and problem resolution skills
• Good English written and verbal skills
• Ability to handle numerous conflicting priorities in a professional manner
• Ability to implement and follow corporate policies
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with solid teamwork ethic and customer focus.

 

 Preferred:  
• Experience with SharePoint migrations
• Experience with SharePoint Hybrid Cloud/on-premises deployments
• Experience with SharePoint Taxonomy/ Managed Metadata
• Experience with Cross Site Publishing and SharePoint Search driven Publishing
• Experience with Metalogix ControlPoint, Diagnostic Manager, and Content Matrix

 

Education
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  Preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field
