Job Description:

Primary Purpose:
The Sr. Storage Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, administration, and support of all SAN (Hitachi, Infinidat, and others), object storage, file (NetApp) and data protection storage solutions for the enterprise

Principal Duties:

  • Design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of Enterprise storage solutions with-in the enterprise
  • Administration of highly available enterprise Network Attached storage solutions
  • Support internal private and external S3 cloud technologies
  • Support data protection for: Filesystem, transactional database (SQL, Oracle, and DB2), Big-Data, SAP, and Virtual environments (VMware/Nutanix)
  • Produce and maintain HLD & LLD documentation for Storage/Backup environment

Job Related Experience:

Minimum Level: 10+ years supporting enterprise storage and data-protection solutions

Documentation vetting and creating


Preferred Level:  

  • BS or MS Degree
  • ITIL- Foundation


Preferred Majors:
     -    Computer Science
     -    Electrical or Computer Engineering

Technical Skills:

  • In-Depth knowledge of Hitachi, EMC, NetApp, Pure, IBM or Infinidat enterprise SAN storage technologies
  • Detailed understanding of storage performance, high availability, resilience, and business continuity
  • Understanding of S3 cloud Storage concepts
  • Knowledgeable regarding storage replication concepts
  • Experience implementing NVMe storage solutions in an enterprise environment
  • In-depth understanding of SAN technologies from Brocade/Cisco
  • Familiar with Hyper-Converged concepts
  • Experience implementing enterprise storage for databases
  • Thorough knowledge on concepts of networking, virtualization, and operating systems solutions
  • Identify training opportunities to bridge gaps in knowledge
  • Understanding of Nutanix storage concepts a plus
  • Scripting and REST API Automation a plus
  • Knowledge of IP storage networking concepts a plus
