Tax Internship 

Location: Atlanta, GA

 

A Day in the Life

 

Tax Interns conducts tax accounting and performs analysis and audit in connection with federal, state and local tax activities for Norfolk Southern Corporation and subsidiaries. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Reviews income statement and balance sheet activity to determine proper tax treatment.
  • Supports special studies for the purpose of tax planning.
  • Assists in the development of income tax accruals and associated information in accordance with tax laws and regulations and related financial reporting.
  • Prepares support documentation for tax positions and responses to audit inquiries.
  • Prepares returns, payments, extensions, claims and related documentation.

Education/Experience

 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree
    • Preferred Majors: Accounting, Finance – Taxation

 

Compensation

  • Freshman (27 or fewer credits) - $2,500/month
  • Sophomore (28 to 59 credits) - $2,800/month
  • Junior (60 to 89 credits) - $3,000 /month
  • Senior (90 or more credits) - $3,300/month
  • Graduate Student - $3,666/month

 

*Living stipend of $850/month is available to those who qualify.
