Job Summary:

Norfolk Southern Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Technology Engineer - Info Sec. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team responsible for ensuring the quality of the corporation’s Identity and Access Management (IAM). The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing, defining, documenting, and testing business and system requirements for complex, high-profile projects. The candidate will act as a liaison between Information Security and business partners. The successful candidate should be proactive and must possess strong analytical and communication skills.  Candidate will be able to participate in remote work with the occasional required in-office meetings depending on business needs.

Education:

Required Level: Bachelor’s Degree (BS)

Preferred Majors:  Computer Science, Information Security, or similar curriculum

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience developing object-oriented systems and applications (languages such as Java and C#)
  • Ability to capture requirements with efficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail on a consistent basis
  • Ability to interact professionally with business partners, subject matter experts and development teams
  • Experience in documenting requirements and designs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to rapidly adapt to new technologies
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment

Day-to-day Duties:

Dedicated area (main duties 50%):

Serve as the technical subject matter expert to integrate custom applications and COTS to security platforms below:

  • CyberArk  - retrieve service account credentials using APIs or custom connectors.
  • Ping/Okta - to onboard, troubleshoot, and investigate application authentication/authorization items.
  • Oracle Identity Governance (IAM) – application development, custom solutions to automate and optimize workflow related to user access life cycle management.

Special projects (secondary duties 35%):

Aside from the main and support duties, you’ll be assigned special projects related to your skillset to support varying InfoSec initiatives such as the below:

  • Integration of Service Now with IAM.  Mainly involves creation of integration points and services to support automation and delegation of varying functions.
  • Create custom solutions to integrate IAM with SAP for automation and auditing purposes.
  • Participate in migration, upgrades, and new installation of products within the IAM team’s portfolio.
  • Participate in the PassPhrase project to enhance security

Support (secondary duties 15%):

Provide technical and administrative support for domain areas with the IAM team:

  • Administer access permissions within the Oracle IAM tool.
  • Administer access permissions within PAM area (CyberArk Digital Vault, Conjur - DevSecOps).
  • Administer and troubleshoot issues around authentication and authorization and multi-factor authentication (MFA) within the IDP platform such as Ping/Okta.
  • Administer and troubleshoot access to resources within the RACF Mainframe system and the custom Role Based Administration (RBA) Database.
