Job Description:

  • include wiring electrical power and control systems, and laying-out, assembling, wiring, and installing electrical boxes and panels on railroad maintenance machinery.
  • Journeyman electricians must be able to read electrical wiring schematics, be familiar with repair shop equipment and tools.
  • At least 3 years’ experience doing electrical work applied to buildings, machinery, and heavy equipment.



Journeyman status is preferred but will consider those with less experience to fill student Electrician positions.



Minimum Qualification:

  • High School/GED
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Read and understand schematic drawings



Skills and Abilities:

  • Verbal comprehension (Understand oral and written communications-both general and technical)
  • Communication skills (provide clear instructions/directions)
  • Reasoning skills (problem solving and troubleshooting skills)
  • Electrical aptitude
