Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Addresses requests and concerns from Industrial Development Managers, engineering consultants and customers for engineering solutions designed to effect and/or improve the efficient handling of revenue producing freight traffic within assigned multistate territory. Assists in management of a field office.

Principal Duties:

  • Analyzes potential industrial property and articulates development/design challenges and/or concerns.
  • Produces practicable CAD engineering plans and cost estimates for the extension of industrial sidings into plant sites and buildings ensuring optimal utilization of customer's site.
  • Provides technical railroad engineering expertise to the department and industrial prospects.
  • Conducts customer/engineering meetings to discuss rail and site development issues.
  • Performs all aspects of a thorough site investigation, considering rail operations and other corporate assets in order to properly evaluate a site for a potential customer.
  • Helps to efficiently manage a field office.

Job Related Experience:

Minimum Level: 6-10 years Preferred Level: 11-15 years

Education:

Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree (BS)

  • Engineer in Training Certificate
  • Professional Engineer License
